I lived through a few intense weeks, but my diploma is now in the bag, and with stellar scores! I've gotten so many congratulations from the professors, it's really amazing. But it's only one step in my journey, as I am continuing my studies in September to get my PHD ( Read more... )

Oh my god! I am so glad you get to come to the West Coast. I believe the last time I saw you was at AX 2004 or something. I will be cosplaying very easy things like Cuba from Axis Power Hetalia, Tenpou from Saiyuki Gaiden and Dr. Moreno, a secondary character from Gundam 00P.

I will definitely say hi if I see you.

OH crap on the passport. I can't believe the canadian gov told you 15 months. Do you have to pay fees? Actually getting an emergency passport in the U.S requires you pay a lot more for it than just a regular passport. That reminds me, I need to renew mine so I can escape this place if the opportunity arises XD.

It's been FOREVER. We need to find each other and have a chat! Definitely.

And yes, not only is the process long, it also requires extra fees in the case of the canadian paperwork (around 1k I think), the french is a lot less.
The Embassy might have to get me through the border so I can go plead my case in Canada and beg for a new passport. It's a really huge mess.

I was actually gonna bring Durand, if you want to do D'Emo together, and was debating bringing Hotohori (and I have those bits of your Nuriko with me). So far, my only costume plans are for Saturday (doing the masq).

It's been over a year, hasn't it? And even then, we only gazed at each other OVER A PILE OF FABRIC while sewing like madwomen. /woe

I should probably bring Lia, as we only have one photo together, and then Jenny could wear d'Eon. Bah I can probably bring both if I ship everything to Die in advance... because Hotohori and Nuriko could do with more photos as well.

You're in the masq! Lucky! When I decided to go I thought "ooh still time to make something for the masquerade" then looked and say that there were 33 groups on the waitlist. lol That idea ended really quickly.

Die informed me of your upcoming LA visit, but I didn't realize you would be at Fanime as well!
Any chance I could convince you to bring Lia? My sad, lonely D'Eon has been hiding in the back of my closet since the failure that was Katsu 08.

That's awful news about your passports! Good luck, and hopefully things will be sorted out before 2025...

Poor d'Eon! Ali is talking about bringing Durand, too, so we could have a mini-group, the three of us. I'd love to take photos with you, we were so sad you didn't make it for Katsu. :(

I still feel awful about Kastu! I only hope that one day I can make it up to you and Ali and whoever else suffered through making that d'Eon costume in one night. I'm at least glad that I was able to access my phone can get word to you before it was too late. But still, ugh.

I always squeeze the lemon juice into the guy's eyes until he gives me the oranges I wanted. :)

What what what! I haven't seen you in years!! I'll be there in some older stuff, and some remakes/new costumes that are old things like Touga from Utena and Asuka from Evangelion.

I haven't been to the west coast in what feels like EONS! That's why! ;)

Yay for Utena costplay btw~ I'm all for older stuff and I'm always happy to see costume from Utena.
I'll mostly bring some things I already have and turn into Die's dress-up doll... since this is a very last minute unplanned outing!
