I broke baby Jesus...

But I managed to glue him back together, so no harm done. It's all in a day's work for a cosplayer. But then I noticed a suspiciously familiar set of legs (great gams, really), peeking out from a partially hidden spot and realized the Jesus count had gone up to three. Three Jesuses, one virgin mary, four crucifixes ( Read more... )

And my giant bible is barely started...

Funny you mention that. I have a giant German Bible here, but it is a 200 year old museum piece loaned to me by a friend. He would freak if he ever learned it was used for cosplay.

In Trinity Blood, belts has no functionality but to add to the difficulty of the outfit and THORES seems to love to LAYER things on top of the characters.

Oh, can't wait to see it when you are done!

The layering is the WORST. You work like crazy on something. Then you attach it. Only to realize a few days later that something else goes on top and it DOES NOT SHOW.

Sadness.

In the throws of pre costume planning. :p

I have always been a bit of a "form follows function" guy with style. If a person adds something just to add it, it better look good in order to overcome this.

Life is good. Are you on facebook?

More like the throws of pre-convention PANIC. @_@ But I will survive! (yay yay!)

The worst part is that Aion just opened to the public and I have to stop myself from playing because I HAVE NO TIME WHATSOEVER.

I'm on facebook. I never use facebook. So I guess I should amend this and say I am theoretically on facebook? lol I use it mostly for school and work so it's booooring. But you can still add it. On the bright side I think I have a photo of me in a dress with a 60s bouffant.

Ah, James Bond themed party, the things you made me do!

So, other than good, how's life? I WANT DETAILS MAN! ;)

Life is fantastic right now, it really is.  I went through a period of unemployment that lasted six months and when I came through the other side I got the best job I have ever had in my life.  I am a Principle Project Engineer for Westinghouse.  We are designing and building a new generation nuclear reactor that is supposed to change the industry (super safe, super clean, etc).  The job is fun, the pay and benefits are the best I have ever had, the people here are great and I think I am working on something really meaningful here.  I have actually considered going back to school while I am here.  Maybe a PMP certification to go with my MBA… or maybe even a doctorate? :p ( ... )

Sounds like the house really is shaping up. One day, we'll actually get out to DC and maybe you'll let us see it. :)

*_* lol I knew it was Trinity Blood the moment I read about the baby Jesuses XP Oh man! ....Oh maaaaaan! XD You're doing this for NYAF aren't you? Now I'm regretting my decision not to go because...oh my god its going to be amazing and I can't wait to see it! I love that series and all its crazy ass designs.

I've just graduated from baby Jesuses to tiny swords, I'm not sure it's really getting better...

But I knew you'd get it right at the subject line! ;)
And yes, this is for NYAF. I hope I'll do the series justice, I really don't know anything about it... Diana is the one who is a big fan, I'm just collateral damage lol.

It's too bad you're not going, I haven't talked to you in, what, years? I've been so scarce lately, what with work and school, but I really want to start cosplaying more. Although this might not have been the way to start, Abel in less than two months... those were not happy fun times!

Oh man I bet it'll look amazing! Good luck to you both! I think you guys have a pretty good chance considering the skill level of both of you and how crazy Die can be (another person I haven't seen or spoken to in many years, probably doesn't even remember me by now I'm sure since I was pretty young and stupid when I was friends with her).

Well hopefully you two will wear them again in the future sometime? ^_^ Would love to see them in person and very curious now to see what character she's doing (though I think I have an idea). I have been pondering the idea of making a new Trinity Blood costume sometime next year (not Abel, I actually want to make my favorite character instead this time around) but I have no idea when.

Man...that's a lot of work for two months with a full school/work schedule to boot! But I am glad to see both of you gradually making a come back to the cosplay world. ^_^

Thank you for the well wishes! We've been working on this so hard, we hope to at least give everyone a good show. I'm trying my hand at being funny, so we'll see how it works out. At worst, I'll have a lot of "sexy" photos of me doing retarded faces. Which I hear is in character anyway.

(I'll say hi to Die for you. And don't worry, we've all been young and stupid -I still am sometimes even at my advanced age! Oh, and if your idea looks like a big marshmallow you're spot on.)

You know I didn't even want to make Abel. I wanted to be a girl for once! But noooooo! ;)
I'm thinking I might go to AnimeUSA for a day this year, only to have a chance to rewear Abel because with our work schedules, we'll make it to the con just in time for check-in. :(
