I don't have a lot of photos, as the masquerade ended really late and Die and I had to head out... but let me link a few of the less unfortunate convention photos. :)

1 | 2 | 3

(Seeing these photos again reminds me that, in the pre-masq panic, I forgot my contacts and a lot of accessories. lol)

The armor was made of common household junk... pieces of packaging, left-over foam, fish tank tubes, a nightlight cover, duct tape, metal hangers, bathroom caulking, lots of different glues... trimmed with foamies, a few cast items, fabric, about a thousand metal studs and 300+ assorted eyelets. I wish it was more glamourous, but it's not!

(Good point about the PVC piping... but in the case of last-minute Abel I felt like I was pushing a watermelon through a straw!)

NOT TO MENTION THE WATERBREAK IN THE CRAMPED DRESSING ROOM, WHICH YOU ARE NEVER EVER READY FOR.

OH GOD IS IT HERE ALREADY? NO, I'M NOT READY! NOT READY!

*dies laughing* Yes, verbal condoms please!! This analogy is ridiculously perfect.

Well, I always did tell me roommate that it wasn't cosplay until I bled.

That is an absolutely gorgeous costume. The detail!!

Thank you. :) The details nearly killed me and it took me 6 months to finally post about it. lol
Post-delivery trauma of some sort I'm sure.

You're so right! Cosplay does end up making most of us bleed at some point.
The main goal is to attempt not to bleed on dry clean only fabrics... especially if it's white!

Just saw the Bible and Esther up there too; eeee wish I could have seen it in person!! I think that is the hottest cosplay prop I have ever seen. (And man, I love the way you painted your armor!!)

Depressive episodes usually occur between 1-6 months months pospartum, so I think you're onto something there~ ...and then there's postpartum psychosis. Maybe this analogy is a little TOO perfect.

I have definitely bled on white fabrics. ): Luckily it was on a part that didn't really show, but ARGHHH! I bleed on things less copiously than I used to at least! No more slicing my thumb open trying to use my scissors as seam rippers LOL

The best part about the bible is that it opens up for storage. XD Little known fact: it's actually Abel's purse!

You sliced your thumb open? ouch! The worst I've done is sew one of my fingers to what I was making...

...that's pretty bad, now that I think about it.

Brief but I'm knee-deep in stuff atm... was going through old magazines before getting rid of them, found a hilarious picture (intentional, not unfortunate) of you and Die from Ohayocon 2003 in Newtype USA. You probably already have it, but if not, I can scan it for you.

/blast from the past.

oooh I'd love to see it... although my whole appearance during Ohayocon 2003 was very unfortunate! (That costume really wasn't attractive on me lol)

Blast from the past indeed!

And I still think we should cosplay twins one of these days... seeing you with my wig on at Dragon*con was like looking at myself in the mirror....

As soon as I . . . figure out where my scanner is, I'll scan it o_O; (I probably should find it anyway) It's a fairly epic photo, imo.

Hahah I still doubt that. Maybe if I was your brother ;)

BTW your Abel came out awesome, which I can't remember if I said before; I think I told Die to tell you or something :P Now I don't have to do it! lol. Would be happy to do photos if you guys ever wore them again, though I'm sure you could get someone better for that as well.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked the costume, since I know you'd be able to tell if it was wrong (and I'm sure you of all people can see I forgot in the craziness to put on a number of accessories but shhhht don't tell anyone!).

I'd love for you to take photos if we're at the same con at one point, you're the only person who managed to take a photo of Lia that I love to death, so it takes some talent!
