No, I couldn't believe this either! I saw the first post about it on my flist, and I figured that "oh, they're only talking about his birthday in theory, I bet, I'll look it up tomorrow", and then there was a second entry about it, and I still couldn't believe it, so I had to look at Heidi's post confirming it until it finally got through.

JKR DID IT!!!!!!

And no one can convince me that this does NOT mean that she loves Draco, too! (along with all her other characters, but oh well ;-))

Well I won't go so far as to say she *loves* him BUT, he's at least *important* enough to have a birthdate (just think about who else have been given a birthdate thusfar, everyone Rowling named favorite + Snape!!!). And she can't really hate him that much, I mean I am 99.999999% sure Vernon Dursley doesn't have a birthdate!!! So the odds that Draco can have his own proper storyline (instead of just being used as a plot device) actually got higher in my mind after this new piece of info!!!

Well, I think she loves him in the sense that she's said she loves all her characters, "even Dudley". ;-) And yes, it totally means he's one of the important characters. I doubt she'll be announcing Lavender Brown's birthday any time soon. Have you looked at Aja's journal? She has his Gemini-horoscope written, and it's so spot on, that I'm thinking JKR has actually been giving this some thought. Which, of course, in itself requires a big *SQUEEEEEEE*
