Save for the occasional comments in some of your ljs, I might have been as good as dead to my corner of HP fandom. And to think, that exactly one year ago I was squeeing like I just won jackpot over the pleasant surprise that was Rowling wishing Draco Subhuman Malfoy happy birthday on her website, and that less than one year ago we were all feeling

Aw, little Draco, he would be 26 today, if he were real (and now I suddenly hear about fifteen internet-idiots telling me, in their heads, that "Draco isn't REAL!" To which I resond, "yes... that's why I said 'if he were real'.") I frankly think I have more telepathic ability than my adversaries, thank you very much. ;-) Though, admittedly, it would be nice if they had it, because than they would have the correct answer to what "people like me" would say, rather the strawman answers they usually attribute to us. ;P

Shame all the lionly birthdays have passed and we can't say the same to them. (I love how someone at the leaky comments lj was all 'ZOMG I WILL NEVER FORGIVE A PERSON WHO ENDANGERED TEH WHOLE SCHOOL'. Um, aren't they as confused as we are? Stop acting like Slytherin is real, wanker!)

I'm proud of you for screencaping the birthday announcement. Especially given that I *forgot*. But then, I forget even RL friends' and relatives' birthdays, Draco will just have to forgive me. :P

It's scary isn't it? Arguing with the little voices in your head, and even lose sometimes because "they" are just being completely unreasonable. But seriously, when was the last time you read a stupid post and found it at least creative? Fandom debates are predictable 90% of the time, I feel, even the part where you got pissed off at random person X because his dead brain remains dead.

Draco has to bake me cookies because I usually remember no one's birthday, in fact I reminded my mom, for the first time ever that it was my grandpa's birthday yesterday because he and Draco have the same birthday X-D!

... so what happened?

In my case, I just don't care anymore. No, rly. I used to take the HP fandom far too seriously, and the phase is over and done with, for which I'm entirely grateful. Considering that I more or less belong to the group of Slytherin-supporters and OBHWF haters who are made fun of constantly and patronised by the author herself and by the so-called 'canon purists', the fact that I don't care about anything they have to say serves me right, especially now.

I painstakingly printscreened and saved 'Happy Birthday' and 'Draco Malfoy' from Rowling's website.

I did that last year. I think I still have it somewhere in my scrapbook here on LJ.

Yeah, the prosperity of a fandom does not depend simply on people considering each other stupid, it depends on people considering each other stupid and care enough to throw that valuable opinion at the other's face :-D
