DH spoilers, spread them like influenza?
Yeah, like probably a good half of the fandom, weak-willed little me has submitted herself to 1. all the chapter titles and 2. THE EPILOGUE SCANS OF DOOM. If you haven't and wanna see them, go over to elaboration's or fraught's LJ :-D (Come on~! Let go of your self restraint~ Weak mind loves company~)
Firstly, Scorpius Malfoy/Arbus Severus Potter OTP, anyone? X-D X-D X-D?
YES! Draco survived!!! YES!!! Draco is for the first time (maybe not the first time in the 7th book, but the first time for my eyes), acknowledged as Draco by the narrator! And his son is just like him!!! Just as Albus is just like Harry!!! I know I know, this your offspring is the clone of you is not only creepy, it's lazy writing, but from a 2 dimensional, fannish point of view it's quite conveniently yummy, really.
Secondly, Snape died, unfortunately... But he apparently died a "good death", what with Harry naming his son after him, and calling him 'the bravest' ever. It's a bit of a pity he did not die with/having had a lover (corny you say? Yeah that's me), but I'll bet anything his part in DH was the greatest, most memorable arc in this series!
Death toll wise, it would seem that Lupin, Tonks, some non-Percy (yay!) Weasleys have died. Hopefully Fred was one of the goner! Hagrid survived too... Oh well, in my book he got his fair bit of comeupance in HBP already so that's okay :-/
As for the OBHWF... Since I've long expected it, I was actually pleasantly surprised by the fact that the epilogue emphasized on families, friends, children with a new beginning instead of Harry and Ginny's GREAT ROMANCE. Though, it could be because we would have to suffer through their epic looooooooove before the epilogue (argh!). Also, the whole everyone got married relatively young, giving birth to children carrying all the right genes, with balanced gender proportion etc etc... is really quite lame.
But I'm willing to overlook all these as long as Draco is alive, well, on civil term with a Slytherin-neutral Harry, and has a son who's a new Draco, ready to embark on a new hormone packed, slasher-blessed journey again. Amen.
Oh and yeah I saw OOTP. I liked some of it (movie!Lucius fares much better than his canon counterpart in my mind, DE's are generally cooler, and much love for Kreacher!), loathed some other (poor Cho!!!), and eye-rolled at a great deal more (NO HARRY YOU ARE NOT A BAD PERSON! GRAWP, AWWWWWW, SO HARMLESS AND HERMIONE-LOVING, RIGHT YOU ARE!). But overall it has upped my anticipation for the final book, so it's all good :-)
