wow. this weekend was somewhat interesting.

and its not even done yet!!

On Friday I drove to Abingdon with Isaac and Julie and Brad (another brad -- conversations got confusing in the car) to see SPIDERMAN 2 on the big stadium diarreah-inducing-sound-system theatre up yonder. Found the movie as enjoyable as everyone's been saying. I came in late, so apparently I missed Bruce Campbell's cameo ... I also had no frame of reference for the cute gawky blonde girl who comes in and gives a despondent Peter Parker chocolate cake. "What about the chocolate cake girl?" I asked leaving the theatre. "What happened to her?"

---

Then we went back to the Coffeehouse and I had a drink and was about to leave when Ryan -- the art student with a mohawk who works there -- asked if I wanted to stick around -- he produced a bowl and me and this other guy smoked marijuana and continued drinking and playing music ... before long it was dawn -- "Holy shit! The sun's coming up!" -- and we wandered outside ... "You wanna break into General Mills?" ... General Mills is the abandoned mill complex off of State of Franklin Rd. that I'd seen for years and wondered about ... were the silos full of Lucky Charms? was there a huge cereal testing room, like in some of those old Cinnamon Toast Crunch commercials, where they test the deliciousness of the cereal and it's always off the fucking charts?

We climbed under a fence and found the Mill to be this dusty, decrepit complex, dark, laberinthine ... rising four stories and the floors covered in flour ... crazy. wish i had pictures, 'cause that place was fucking cool.

then we went to Hardees and got some breakfast and ate it and swam in a pool -- I guess we were still drunk, or perhaps in the fractured euphoria of having-stayed-up-all-night ... we got the plastic table and chairs from around the pool and brought them into the water with us ... sat around the table, converged in water. Then we put the chairs up on the edge of the pool and started finding different ways to fall into the pool with the chairs ... then we broke a chair and pretty much scrammed. I went to sleep on Ryan's couch and woke up around three - he dropped me back off at the coffeehouse where i ran into jonathan heading into the salvation army store ... we went to this weird restaurant called Beasley's and I had a PattyMelt which I couldn't finish ... went to a bookstore and bought a hardcover copy of The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich for 10 bucks.

Then the everybodyfields CD release party, which was fun. stayed out late.

and a CD party for the Orange Julians at the Hideaway. I hadn't heard them before ... they're good. But I didn't buy a cd. I spent the money on the everybodyfields cd, entitled :"Half-way There: Electricity & the South" ...It's good, and i suggest that anyone who likes acoustic alt-country melancholia go to www.theeverybodyfields.com and pick up a copy. or download a song. or stream it.

that's it for me.
