BOOM comix is nearing completion.
Here are the cartoons that i have scanned,
I apologize for the shitty integrity and general hugeness of these scans, but hwat ken you do, ah?
I know nothing about how to streamline things for the web.
These aren't in any particular order --
The image on the right is the cover to my "side of the book" -- Isaac's cover will be flipped upside down -- it shows bush's head blowing up. basically, there's no wrong way to read the book.
zombie christ is an old strip i did for lauph magazine back in boston. some people will object to this, 'specially 'round these here parts, in the buckle of the bible belt ... but some people will object to anything.
The darwin comic is new, the one underneath is old; appeared in lauph magazine. The ones on the right appeared in the Berkely Beacon in the spring of '03 -- at the time we were about to invade or just beginning our occupation; i still think their logic holds up, so i'm reprinting them
Literary loves is new -- it started as sketches i'd done in L.A. and here -- a thumbnail sketch was hanging up in the coffeeshop for a while -- i think it would make a great shirt.
the one on the right is an oldie but a goodie that i'm reprinting. its appeared in lauph magazine, the berkeley beacon and the weekly dig. i remember when i drew it, i was in this class on Globalization, and the comic pretty accurately how i felt, and continue to feel much of the time.
hey, everybody! It's mondale, the drunk fish who lives in los angeles!
and an old comic, printed in lauph previously, that has become tattered due to neglect and moving ... i liked the way it looked -- seemed to fit the comic -- so instead of cleaning it up in photoshop i left it. clever or lazy?
"moths are spirits" is a livejournal post that i adapted into comic form. it's not funny, but i like the moment that it sets up.
and song of solomon -- it's really hard to read, but it's taken from The Song of Solomon, or Song of Songs, chapter 4, verses 1-5.
let me know what you think! any favorites?
