Salene was still squinting, a small smile grazed her lips, and though it looked like it could be from the squinting, it was also because even a bit of light made her feel better. She shook her head when he apologized, though she wasn't sure what he was apologizing for. He had a slight fever, but not enough to be frighten her, and plus, she was a ( Read more... )

"it's nothing really" Bray said, he looked down and was alarmed, itwasn't nothing, it was infected. "okay," he said. He tried to get up again, but he was feeling weaker and weaker, he pulled himself forward, but just could raise himself up.

he was afraid to ask for help, but he knew he needed it if he was to see Amber again "Help," he said.

Salene stood up and waited for Bray, rifling through the bag now that she could see everything. Plus with the bathroom being set into the wall like that, it'd still be a bit dark once they got inside, so she needed to gather the stuff together now. If she found matches or a lighter in this bag after everything because she now had light, she was going to be really peeved. She was just pulling up the bottle of hydrogen peroxide when Bray said 'Help,' and she turned, looking down with a puzzled expression. She held her hand out and smiled, "Come on then," she offered, reaching down to grasp his hand and pull up a bit, using as much of her might as she could. His face had a strange tint to it, why did he look that way? Salene decided it was because her eyes weren't yet used to the light and she wondered how long that would last..how strange.

Bray flinch as she helped him up, he managed to get to a squatting position and with all his strength he pushed himself up. He stumbled after Salene. he felt sick, and faint, but he did his best before falling, and struggling to pick himself up

"Ok, scratch that," Salene said as he fell to the floor. She stooped down next to him and put her hand on his other shoulder, "Just sit here, we won't worry about a mess," she said, plopping down next to him and pulling things out of the bag. "Are you really that sick Bray? You have me worried," she said, the truth of it in her voice as it waivered and her eyebrows knitted together in worry. She pulled out the bottle of peroxide and some of those cotton pads. She pulled back Bray's shirt and sighed, this was not good at all ( ... )

"Uhh," Salene wasn't even paying attention, she hadn't heard him and she had to think about what he'd said to get a grip, "Uh, no, Amber? What?" She shook her head and bit her lip, "Amber wasn't here, what are you talking about?" What if Amber was here, and she'd seen them almost...what had that been? Her overactive imagination? Or had that really almost happened? She was so confused. "Lay down Bray you need rest," she said, but her voice was even and calm, like she wasn't all the way there. Her mind was a million and 10 miles away.

Salene stood up and went towards the light, and though it still made her eyes burn, she wanted some of it's warmth, which was rapidly filling their little room, and she wanted to lay on the floor and feel the sunlight on her face, to drink up the light like a liquid and revel in this now precious comodity. She had to think of a way out of here, and as she sat on her butt on the floor and looked up into the light, something dawned on her, and her mind took off with ideas.

Bray didn't need to telling twice he just collapsed backwards on the bed and let the world evaporate and he fell into another restless sleep.

Every so often the quietness was punctuated by his calling out for bray, or Amber

Salene sat on the floor, her knees pulled to her chest, hugging them tightly as she reclined her head back and squinted up into the light. Sitting there with her eyes open hurt so she closed them and relaxed, letting the light wash over her, the warmth and the air, the freshness of it all rejuvenating her. She was going to be very sad when they did close those doors on her, she was really happy to have some light. Salene tried to use her mind to concentrate, to call out to Amber, to Pride, to anyone back at the mall, anyone who could save them, sending mental images of...that was when she realized she didn't know where in the world she was. She could be days and days away, or right in the very city. Looking around the edge of the door she could see some trees and grass, so she assumed she was not in the city, but where then? A farm? The forrest? Salene had no idea. This made her scared, she didn't like not knowing where she was, she didn't like that she couldn't plan an escape, if she could reach the door ( ... )
