The better quesiton is which is the biblical approach =D...aside from that the answer depends on the guy...generally if they're shy they'd prefer you to...if they're not then they prefer making the first move.

Biblical approach to dating is to not date ...sounds weird i know. Allow me to explain. Courtship is what the bible endorses; hence whoever your currently "seeing" cannot ever be alone with you. Your relationship first and foremost is based upon furthering your relationship with God by the union of each other. Unless one knows his purpose in life they should not court; and if he/she does knows his purpose the person they are courting must also follow a similar path as to aid in that person's purpose for God. In short there is no physical contact before marriage. Oh! my favortie part ^^, the boy must ask the father of the girl he is courting for permission first. =) I could go on and on but I think this pretty much covers the basics.
