I think that's a perfectly acceptable reason to cross the border. :)

Clearly, you must investigate in depth if Hollywood is being Anti-Canadian by showing different versions in the two countries, thus, you must see it in the US and in Canada to ensure parity.

*is also a dork*

Oh man... I know they have IMAX footage that doesn't even make it to the DVD, now I just gotta see if there's a Canadian-US difference...

I've been introducing my kid to Transformers by rewatching the first cartoon with her. It makes me feel all nostalgic. I really need To watch the Films. I feel bad that I haven't seen them before now.

Also you should totally cross the border to see the film early, how can that not be a fun adventure.

That's really awesome <3 The films are... well, I won't lie and say that they're good, but I can still watch them and have fun. ^^;

Though, especially for watching with your kid, I can't recommend Transformers; Animated enough. The third season isn't available on DVD, but you can probably find it online pretty easily and it is completely excellent.

<3 I maaayyy be pitching the idea to my (equally TF-obsessed) friend now. It seems like too much fun.

I'll have to check it out. It makes me feel so old watching these with her because I remember watching it before school when I was her age.

Aww, I was actually too young for the original G1 Transformers when I was a kid.. (but I get nostalgic as hell over Beast Wars...)

One extra bonus, that I found, to TFA, was that the main human-POV kid, was a (totally awesome) little girl named Sari.
