operation: job hunt!

my job hunt is going ok so far. yesterday, I went down to the mall and applied @ express, bath & body works, and finish line. I'll be calling them all back on Monday to see whats up. I'm trying to think of some other places I could apply to that I would possibly like. I have a friend that works at loews cineplex, i was going to apply there, but

i thought minimum wage was 5.15 all over the U.S.? It's still 5.15 in nyc. i worked at loews this past summer and i got paid $6 an hour (i think they raise u a quarter every 3 months)...it was a lot of work, not worth it...and the number of hours u got depended on how much business was expected...and u get a diff schedule every week so i couldnt really plan ahead...but workin in the summer in manhattan is prob diff and more hectic than other places...good luck:)

I only make 6.50 at Ny & Co, but the 30% discount makes up for it. I made more at Walmart, but the job was *so* not worth it. I love my job, and since our store is more or less the same as Express, I'm sure you'd probably like it there too. Dressing up for work is the best part, it's still a novelty to me after 3 years of working in places that had uglyass uniforms.

dag, yea ny is tough everyone wants to work you like a mexican here, its rediculous, they think they can slave you. I think its $ 5.15 minimum wage too. I cant work on minimum wage no more, every job i got the pay got higher, i started from $5 to the job i got now that i will be starting on Nov.1st (http://americangirl.com), $9.90 an hour, almost $10 an hour just 10 cents less. It pretty cool the pay. $5.15 i cant survive anymore, i get money hungry lol. Plus i spend to much money weekly. I hope you get your job, you moved to pa? yeah, I'm aiming for $7.00 or higher, I cannot work for less than $6.25, that's just ridiculous.

i work at a movie theater (famous players silvercity) and i get $8.00, which is minimum wage here. it's fun working there, and of course free movies are great :)
