thoughts spillled into a post

Making christmas presents, buying christmas presents. I'm broke and just about finished. Thank god. I think I can finally enjoy this holiday once i'm not worried about paying the bills.

I've been searching for a good journal for months... any suggestions?

make a journal?
it's really easy. and not time consuming really. it's something you can do while you're watching tv. kind of like knitting.
there are some communities on here that have a lot of information about handmade books.

Yeah? I'm not a big fan of binding... I have to do it at work all the time... what kind of binding were you thinking of? I have some really beautiful images from Juxtapose however so I could see that being a good journal.

knowing me I'd likely not go out on a limb. and stick to what I know unless I found something that was really exciting looking (which there are a ton of binding methods that are incredible), but the only one I've tried, and know, is the coptic stitch. it's easy as all hell. and is so versatile depending on what kind of cover or spine you're looking for. I've made exposed spine coptic bound books, or cloth covered books where the cover wraps all the way around.
but you could pretty much go anywhere with it.
