If any of you will be in the Detroit area July 4-8, Spoon and Yo La Tengo and a whole bunch of other bands are playing for free at City Fest. I'm going to try to get my super-hip dad to go since I'll be stuck in Livonia, aka most exciting city ever, for the fourth.

So my family lives very near Livonia and it IS definitely a boring place. But for what it's worth, I can always give you some opinions about where to eat or what you could do!

Where is your family from?

My dad's lived there for about 15 years and it's just so.. meh. I'll only be there for the night, but your suggestions as a nearby resident will definitely come in handy during my future visits (so we can at least stop eating take-out every single night) :)

Ah, thank you so much for the mini dining guide! This beats take-out and chain restaurants any day.

My grandparents live in Northville and my mom's family is from Plymouth so I'm somewhat familiar with that area as well. Small world.

Is that song by the same people who did "What is love?" Fucking awful.

Yeah, the 5th. I get back the 15th or 16th, I think. And then I declare a major party that weekend, not because I'll be back but.. just because we never had one and we've all been talking shit the past few months with no actions to back it up.
