What am I thinking?!? No, I will not tell my employer I'm job hunting. Why should I? I will feel under too much scrutiny if they know I'm looking for an escape. And of course, the job hunting process could easily drag on, and what if I change my mind, etc. It could get complicated

Don't tell your employer that you are looking for work. If they were looking to replace you, they certainly wouldn't tell you.

Try to remember that you don't owe them anything; Despite how you feel about members within that company. NO company is ever looking out for your best interests.
