That may not be normal (having your dad signing along with MCR), but that's definatly cool. I have to hear my dad sing to...Alan Parsons Project...and the Moody Blues. *gag* It's like emo for the 70s, basically.
And for some reason, kids always think that acedemically exceeding means intellectually exceed. But there are major exceptions to that rule. For one thing, a lot of kids who have ADD are really gifted, but get bored easily with tests and homework, because they make them extremely tedious and time-consuming. And another: the validictorian of my high school was the biggest ditz on the planet. I honestly thought she was a typical *I'll screw any guy that passes glances at me* kind of girl without any brains, but apparently she just was gifted at being able to throw up any words that teachers said to her, or that textbooks fed her. Not to mention just hours after giving her speech, she got drunk and made out with my ex-high school sweetheart. That kinda pissed me off. But not so much as her being called "brilliant" when she isn't
