I think my insurance covers a max of $1500, which seems to be pretty good compared to what I'm hearing from everyone else.
With so much work that needs to be done, have you thought about going to the OHSU dental school? I had a bunch of work done there a few years ago and they were great. They also accept most insurance, and the fees they charge are waaaaaay cheaper than a regular dentist.

probably about $800 out of pocket

your 'stimulus package rebate' should almost cover that

Wait, I'm confused. Something sort of *good* is coming out of this administration? I think my world view just crumbled...

ouch!

i hate the dentist, but i'm totally motivated by fear of the sharp-and-pointies to keep my mouth some semblance of healthy.

Yeah, I'm taking this to heart and will now be scrupulous about my checkups.

Oh I hate the dentist with a passion. And we have this dentist that is so "in your face", I hate it. They called me the other day "because we are worried about you, it has been 3 years since a cleaning". Ug. I do not need to be solicited by my dentist. Don't call me, I'll call you. (I was in since the beebs were born to have a crown put on, but didn't have a cleaning then).

I feel your pain....I am totally needle-phobic and decidedly un-adult, when it comes to facing the dentist. I've recently received a friendly postcard reminder!!! it's time for a cleaning! Thanks for a little shove to get myself into THE CHAIR......
