Waking up this morning to see that Colin Powell has endorsed Obama helped start my day off well. I've always respected and admired Powell, and was disappointed that during his time as Secretary of State he was pretty much sidelined by the administration. If they had listened to his views and advice, and not created such an uncomfortable atmosphere

Given Powell's assistance to the Bush administration in pushing forward the Iraq war, I have been seriously disappointed in him. This is a nice step in restoring his credibility. Unfortunately, extremists are already ripping Powell to shreds. With luck, this will hurt their credibility, but somehow, I doubt it :(
