Annual pilgrimage and a Willie Nelson reference

It's that time of year again...time for my Annual Pilgrimage to Embers. Every year, the night before Thanksgiving, I make my way back there to revisit the dance club of my youth. Over the years I've moved on to different clubs and better DJs, but there will always be a special little corner of my heart reserved for the place where I celebrated my ( Read more... )

I am planning to be there Wednesday. I was freshly broken and on lots of meds last year. :(

On a completely unrelated note... Terry Pratchett has music?

Oh, no. It's just that for my customized LJ interface, I've got 'what I'm reading' instead of 'what I'm listening to'.
I wish he did, though! I'm sure it would be highly amusing.

*laughs* gotcha. :-) that makes so much more sense...

Granted, we do have "Where's Neil when you need him", which is music for Neil Gaiman, so Terry Pratchett wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

"And kissing a girl for the first time." Really? How was it for you?

I was having a long conversation w/ an old friend and recently thinking about last year around this time. Last year the Wed before Thanksgiving night I was indeed at Embers for a rare visit, but truth be told that wasn't a great night for me. I am not sure I want to go poking around old memories. I have some good one there and some not so good ones. Such is life I guess. My life is so much different now, in some fundamental ways.

Well, the girl in question is an awesome kisser, so it was quite nice. :)
Maybe you can create a new memory to replace the old one? If not, have fun at whatever you do tomorrow night.

Thanks. I am kind of hoping for a quiet night in front of the fireplace w/ the boy at his place, as I think we are also going to his family's something or other in the am Thursday. Best wishes to you this holiday!

I was wondering how the show was! That is sad about David J. No New Tale to Tell is such a classic, and one of the cooler guitar tabs I learned while attempting to learn acoustic. Some artists just don't know when to throw in the towel I guess.

If only your Embers tradition was a couple months ago, otherwise I'd be totally game. I haven't been out dancing since June to the Fez, but with the Sproutling in utero I'm trying to avoid the smoky joints these days, plus at this stage I just don't have the energy or stamina that I used to! Enjoy yourself and maybe I'll see ya at the next ladies brunch at Mothers coming up?

I will definitely be there at brunch! As for tomorrow night, I'll dance to something in your honor.
