Siva walked into her room from the entrance with Ebony right behind her.

She sat on her bed and patted the space beside her. She needed to speak to Ebony, it was something she'd wanted to do for a while.

She wrinkled her nose as Ebony mentioned being "Auntie Ebony".

"That makes you sound a bit...old. Are you sure you want to be an 'auntie'?" She ( Read more... )

Ebony took a seat next to Siva on the bed, turning her head slightly to better give her sister her full attention. It wasn't often that they had sisterly chats, and Ebony was curious what it was that Siva wanted to speak to her about. She knew her sister was worried about finding Java, so she didn't figure they would be able to chat for any real length of time. Perhaps the search for Java was what she wanted to discuss, away from the other Mallrats who wouldn't be too keen on the two lending their aid to Ram. At Siva's retort, an amused smirk pulled at the corner of Ebony's mouth before being quickly replaced by a look of feigned offense. "I prefer the term wise to old myself Siva. There's a number of useful things I can hardly wait to teach that niece or nefew of mine." The moment the words left her lips, Ebony couldn't hold up the pretense anymore and looked to the floor trying to remove the smile that had re-emerged. Making eye contact once more with her sister, Ebony's eyes sparkled with silent laughter, no longer trying ( ... )

Siva rolled her eyes and swatted Ebony's arm with the pillow. "Hopefully you'll have a niece. We don't have enough patience for another Lex." Her smile widened when Ebony looked at her again. "You're really happy about this, admit it." She hugged the pillow closer to her body and tilted her head in thought. "Are you sure about helping out with Java? I mean, I know you two don't get along....but, maybe..."

Ebony's smile faded almost instantaneously when Siva mentioned Java, her gaze flickering away momentarily to focus on nothing in particular. I know you two don't get along... With a barely audible scoff, her eyes briefly wandered to the ceiling before returning to the spot in front of her. If there were ever a contest for understatement of the century, that one would definitely make it in the final runnings.

Ebony remembered all too well the scarcely concealed looks of blood lust that had filled her oldest sisters eyes whenever Ebony's well being was put in jeopardy. She hadn't forgotten Java's sinister smile that radiated total triumph and vindication when Ebony had taken the fall for Siva's theft. Nor the look of burning hatred mixed with genuine disappointment that came over her sister when Ram had decided not to punish her. How many times had Java growled for Ram to just delete her; pure contempt for her younger sister written unmistakably on every inch of her face. It hadn't even been that long ago Java had tried to ( ... )

Frowning, Siva put the pillow down and sighed. "I...I know that you and Java, well, I guess...Thank you." She gave Ebony a small smile. "I know you couldn't care less about her, and you taking time to help me...It means a lot to me, that's all." Her thoughts were jumbled and she couldn't look her sister straight in the eye, afraid that it might make her cry.

She cleared her throat in an attempt to keep the tears back and took Ebony's hand in her own. "If you're really sure about this, an we leave as soon as possible?"
