i'm sure everyone has been waiting for this day all their lives.
here is a picture timeline of surprise's life, before i knew her through now.
so first, the man who started it all: her father, Rambler's Renown.
this is surprise, probably 1 year old, in a cute, matted looking phase. she was born a rebel.
here is surprise at the age of 2.5. probably the thinnest she's ever been.
surprise at 3 with a head way too big for her body. we look a little awkward.
surprise with her ugly old best friends, "deedee" and "dream" (surprise is obviously the hottest of the 3)
here is surprise at her first job - being a cart horse.
surprise's second job - an endurance horse. as you can see she's very sweaty and gross. we didn't like this life too much.
our third job was actually being a fox hunter, but we don't have any pictures of that. so her fourth job was being an eventing horse. too bad we're a lot better together than this ugly slut who's riding her.
and finally, after living the good life of standing around and eating grass for a few years, came the best day of both of our lives.
this is our first encounter. we look really awkward and i hated her. who would have guessed it would have grown into us falling in love.

her second side job: playing with me and sophia and being our best friend.
riding/showing is getting to be so serious at oxbow. i don't really mind it, but it does take a lot of dedication and a lot of time. i have 3 shows coming up, one this sunday, one next sunday, and one the sunday after that. i'm basically booked through may and i'm sure the rest of the summer will be the same. my mom wants me to get enough points to qualify in dressage to go to nationals or something, and i of course want to as well, but i have no idea how that works. i don't think it's all that hard though. i just have to do a certain number of shows by september i think. i just never imagined all of this happening.
