Well, we found out who moved the furniture in the common rooms, and they have "volunteered" with Professor Sprout with the Venomous Tenactulas. I think it's a pretty fitting punishment, although I must say that when I saw all the furniture gone, I thought it was pretty funny. Funny, but still wrong.
