man, now i'm freaking out about which AP tests to take. again. i would explain it but i want to go read Harry Potter and it is way too confusing for livejournal. all i will say is that the French one may be completely useless to take b/c of the credits i bought a few years ago. i have to talk to mrs chamberlain or possibly she-who-must-not-be-named ( Read more... )

Ok, I'm going to give you an assignment: call the school's your interested in and ask them if they accept "extension credit for french" from the place (BCC or whatever) you bought it from. Just don't say you bought it.

That's how I figured out that USC for me will count the English credit I bought as elective credit, not English credit.

And I'm loving this French cd!

Yeah, I guess that's what they call it when you buy the credits.

The French AP credits weren't useless. Or at least for me they weren't. The BCC credits, if I remember correctly were for French 103. The AP credits gave me credit for French 202, thus placing me in a higher level of French. Are you planning on taking French in college? If yes, the AP test will help a lot with placement. And if no, then maybe they would be a bit useless...

yah Nancy's right....the AP test helps more than the BCC college in the hs credits. Not to mention, if you're considering going to school out of state, the AP credits are more widely accepted.

PS, I love you're HP icon below......I mean I really, REALLY love it.....mmm. Hooooooott.

College in the highschool is just another way of saying AP or a class @ LW where you can buy college credit at the end. Like for language, AP English, and AP Calc.

Some colleges will accept them as they are and sometimes that means it's one less required class you have to take. Others won't accept it as it is, but will consider it an elective credit (that's what one of mine's doing to me for English). So you'd still have to take the class in college. Other's won't give you credit at all and instead will use it as a placement to see where you fit in. And finally some use it as a combo of placement and actual credit / elective credit.

Sorry if this sounds really confusing...it might help if I said it in person.
