I really do not like Cameron Diaz, so if she left the franchise, I would not be sad. Of course, I'd also like them to stop making Shrek movies, but not because of the actors... because the stories are stale and I'm sick of seeing their ugly mugs everywhere. The only good part about the sequel was Puss in Boots.

I STILL haven't seen Shrek 2. But I'm going to go ahead and say that Cameron Diaz is annoying and not only would I not CARE, I would prefer she not get any more work. We don't need to be encouraging her.

Cameron Diaz could be replaced by any number of no-talent Hollywood she-hacks and nobody would notice.

In fact, I vote that we replace her with Lindsay Lohan.

Shrek is a terrible franchise. I can tell you right now that in 30 years everyone will be showing FINDING NEMO and THE INCREDIBLES to their kids, but no one will give a shit about Shrek or its sequel. Silly little pop culture references get dated FAST.

Also, I have read PORTRAIT OF THE ARTIST AS A YOUNG MAN. I tend to get the beginning parts of it confused with the beginning parts of SONS AND LOVERS, though, so I am probably not a big help. The end of Portrait is the best part, anyway -- like when he just says Fuck It, and finishes the story with point form diary entries. That's awesome.
