The few chefs I've known say it completely sucks.. It costs a fortune and then you can never get a job that makes more than 10 bucks an hour...so you're forever in debt.. Just what I;ve heard from them.. If its something you love and being in debt seems like a worthy bullet to take...do it.
i have to side with the limeslush, it doesnt suck, it is hard tho, and culinary school is impossible to pay for on a soup chef's pay. your best bet might just be to apply a resturant and work your way up. you get your experience for free that way. worked for me anyway. good luck kiddo:)
Gahh... i just don't know. I want to be a pastry chef if I do get into it. I really wish I just had one strong passion and talent instead so many things that I'm interested in and just decent at. >.
try and apply at olive garden, if you can work upto chef they train really well. i dunno if its true but they say they send the chefs to a school in italy, but that's probably just the head chef, but who knows right?
try it whatcould it hurt? and besides, olive garden would be some good $$ and you could say you work at OG! youd be a bonefide OG
