I don't think they assign your host family ahead of time, just take you somewhere when you show up.

The school sets up hosts with you and they sometimes don't know until late the week before you arrive who will be available due to the fact that some students don't show and others extend etc. So, you will only know when you arrive. They will look at your app at that time and match as best they can, and they usually do a great job with it. I am sorry but that is the reality. It would be great if you could know ahead of time, but honestly, that would be extremely difficult, next to impossible. Dane
