A tool is often thought of as a concrete, tangible device to help someone complete a task. It can also be something intangible however. A tool tangible or intangible can be utilized to help you accomplish a goal. For many surivivors, that goal includes overcoming, or at least coming to grips with, abuse past or present. There are many different ways of going about this, or rather many different "tools", including therapy, medication, just talking with a friend, journaling, creating artwork, writing stories, reading about abuse, among other methods not listed here.

What tools have you utilized in order to come to grips with and/or overcome your abuse?

Have you found one particular tool or method to be more effective than another?

Was there something that didn't work as well as something else, but which you found more comfort in?
