The yearbook isn't meant to be done by one person. If it's not on time, they can't blame you. And don't worry too much about Redmond. One failing grade one quarter of senior year, especially under your circumstances, doesn't mean anything.

I hope your grandfather will be all right. There's not a thing selfish about your doing the same. Don't let other people's worrying worry you.
