It was unusual for Hunters to attend a fellow hunter's funeral, but Rosie knew the Turpins. Casey was by her side, having helped train the young man. They both had a strong suspicion Malcolm had been set up, which proved even more the existence of traitorous people working in the agency.

A long time friend of Lisa's, Susan stood with her husband, an umbrella drawn over them to shade them from the hot summer sun. It was a horrible tragedy striking close to home once again. She couldn't fight her own tears that welled at the sight of Justin's grieving daughter.

Shane approached the group quietly, settling in at the back of the crowd. Malcolm had been his nemesis at Hogwarts, the pair of them always fighting over Quidditch and girls. One in particular. He was not surprised to see her standing next to her mother and Knightley near the front. Paying his respects to them all seemed like a good idea earlier. Now his stomach twisted with nerves as he stood there, listening to everyone pay tribute to the memory of Malcolm.

Casey stood back with Rosie, along the edge of the graveyard. He hated funerals more than anything else in the world. To many people had died...it was too close to the anniversary. It was V's birthday, and he stood in a graveyard. Attending a funeral. Of a boy, younger than she was. That he played a part in killing. It was enough to make him sick.

Jay moved toward Rae, and wrapped his arms around her. He pulled her back to his chest, hugging her tightly, not knowing what else to do.

Knightley's gaze drifted across the crowd, his best friend had been killed. His stomach knotted, as he just didn't understand how life could end so quickly. In June they had both recieved their diplomas. In August, he was gone. It had only been two fucking months. In those months, he hadn't seen Malcolm or even wrote him.

Rosie touched Casey's arm as the service ended. "We should go. I need to get back to the inn," she whispered.

Shane watched the crowd filter out. Many were going back to the Broomsticks to drink and congregate. He waited until she turned, their eyes meeting at last. As she got closer his mouth felt dry. He nodded to Knightley and gave her mother a little smile. It was then that he saw the ring on her finger. It was different than the one he had given her.

Susie squeezed Neville's hand and moved towards Justin and Rae. Her hand ran over his shoulder as her other arm gently touched Rae, stroking her dark hair.

Casey nodded softly, his gaze flicking briefly over his student, this was their first taste of death. He could hope it was their only.

Knightley sighed softly, he knew this could be trouble. "Shane," he growled in greeting.

Jay turned to look, and smiled softly at Susie. "Hi, Red," he said softly.

Rae turned at the touch of the hand, wiping at the mascara trails from her tears.
