What the hell is up with all of the active sludge/doom communities being Russian?

Dude. So I saw this really obviously Russian kid in the halls today. And he had all these huge Russian letters on his shirt...then underneath, in really tiny writing, were the words....(I am Ukranian.)
In parentheses and everything. It looked like this.
