Where do you see yourself in twenty years?

Sep 03, 2007 19:30

Twenty years is nothin' to an eternal power, such as myself. But twenty years means a great deal to all those sweet yummy mortals. Twenty years means the difference between bein' a helpless little baby, and growin' up to be a big boy or girl. Wantin' to make their mummy and daddy proud. Dreams of stardom dancing in 'er heads.

For the youngsters in 'er teens and twenties, twenty years means the difference between bein' so young, fresh, and full of life, or bein' middle aged and burned out. For those poor souls that are already middle aged, another couple of decades means old age, arthritis, and social security checks. 'N for the really really old, it means years they most likely won't live t' see. Such sad creatures, haunted by dreams of better days, and wishes t' be young and vibrant again. Oh, if we could all be young forever. What fun we could have. So many wonderful games t' play.

Yet the question ain't about the short lifespans of humanity. It's about where I see myself in twenty years. And where I see myself in the very near future, is not a place you'd wanna see. I see very bad things. I see a very different place in two decades. It's so much darker, and allot more gloomy. No mummies or daddies. No sweet little children playin' Ring Around the Rosie. They've all fallen down. No stars singin' to mummy. No fairies dancin' through the sky. No fun. No games. No place for anythin' good. A world devoid of happiness or love. A world of despair and loneliness. Man's worst nightmare come true. What I see in twenty years is nothin' but sadness and tears.
