The fandom homelessness is weird! I've been prettty consistently in one fandom or another since I was... god... like... 10? It's unnerving to not have one! I feel like I just went through a serious, drawn out divorce with Doctor Who and now I'm interested in flings but not ready for any kind of commitment, lol. I got really into Star Wars after seeing TFA but I feel like my heart's not in it and I'll have moved on to something else in a month or two.

Inorite? I've always shied away from the sticker price on these, especially considering that I'm unlikely to listen to any given one more than once, but Big Finish is dangling a reaaallly choice carrot for me here.

Yeah, it's a little awkward to be so excited to work on something that tragic, but it's soooooooooo overdue in Canada it's really nice that it's finally happening and to be part of something that important.

I've listened to a number of the BF audios and a lot of them are really well done -- I was a big fan of Eight's stories, particularly with Lucie, but lately everything BF has announced since getting the New Who rights has been the exact opposite of anything I want (I'm done with Eight now that River is in there, a John Hurt Time War series is literally the last thing I'd ever want to listen to) ....so I'm optimistic about Ten and Donna's because I love Ten and Donna so much, but a little hesitant about what it will mean long-term. My biggest fear is that they introduce a series of Ten + some random non-Rose/Martha/Donna companion set between JE and EOT. I think it's inevitable but I'll hate it and thoroughly reject it as canon, lol.

I don't actually read the offical DW comics, but I know there's an ongoing Ten series with a different companion ("Gabby", I think? Short for Gabriela or something?). I wonder where they put that in continuity.

She's the same, set after Donna. I remember the original description being like "after what happened to Donna Noble the Doctor swore he'd never have another companion... but then he met Gabriella!!" I feel like Gabby is probably a cool character, and she's a different companion to what we've been seeing on TV (I think she's Mexican-American) but the idea of Ten travelling with extra people in that time is too much of a characterisation disaster retcon for me to accept it.
