The return of the king indeed! I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but on the other hand, I am not sure I can become less engaged anyway! (I did think the most recent season was solid and had some good episodes, but I just don't feel fannish about the show in the way I used to).

I stopped watching regularly during Twelve's era and never got back on board, so I've got nothing to lose really, lol. On the other hand I HAVE seen some of RTD's more recent writing and really liked it, especailly It's a Sin. So I'm like "why not this might as well happen" lol

Good to know his newer stuff has been good! I haven't watched anything of his since season 4 of Torchwood, lol. (Would be nice to have some reference to what happened to them as well in this upcoming RTD DW season).

I was impressed by some of the topics of episodes this past season, like the evils of Amazon and social media companies, and problems like microplastics and climate change. It felt very relevant, and genuinely scary, lol, because they are such IRL threats.

I actually haven't watched Doctor Who consistently since uhhh... actually since Clara's last season, I was pretty burnt out and losing interesting. I've seen episodes here and there since but not whole seasons. I will definitely pop back in to give RTD's a shot though because I just love his writing.
