Well, got my account back really fast... Which is good. At the bottom of your inbox screen in GMail, there's a link called Details. Clicking on Details will open up a new window showing you all the most recent accesses made to your GMail account, including the type of access (http, IMAP, etc..) as well as the ip address that made the connection ( Read more... )

hope that you've also caught -how- they did it too... now it COULD be a password hack, but it could have also been a machine hack (seen 'em in the wild)

I'm leaning towards a password hack as they had changed mine on me. Not only did they do that, but they also setup a mail-forward to some hotmail address and set gmail to delete the message after it had been forwarded. The final kick in the pants was when the brain-dead-banana-raping-monkey-fucker wiped out all of my contacts too! I've recovered the ones I immediately recognize, however I KNOW I've lost a ton of really important ones too.
