It was super painful in 2005/2006- now not so much. Although I have been assuming that fixing it is going to be at least as painful as it was to have it be like this for some several months.

I should be able to get my surgery scheduled this coming week- and after that (and maybe more than once) I will likely take you up on those check-ins we talked about. I alternate between continued denial (inertia- so easy), moments of grown-upness (or there wouldn't even be the attempt to schedule, and being completely freaked out by the whole thing (promptly followed by jumping back in denial). anyway I will likely be in touch. (and you know it only hurt those first two years- ish)

yeah not so much. I am hoping there will be an after picture as well (although it may have extra decoration- they are talking about putting pins in my bones which would attach to a frame to hold the bones back in place after they move them around- I can't figure out whether I am more fascinated or horrified)
