Catty Corner (referring to something diagonal from you) is the most delicious colloquialism/Midwesternism I've ever heard. Also chocolate and American Football and the possibility of maybe going on a date this week make me happy. A little fun is what I need, this entire semester has been spent studying and running. really?
i know 'kitty corner'--both my parents use it--and always assumed it was just silly kiwi slang from my father (who's from new zealand).
my mom's from calgary (midwestern canada) so maybe he got it from her?
either way, i don't think i've ever heard anyone else say it.

hm, I'm not exactly sure where the phrase comes from, just assumed the Midwest because the guy who used it is from there (Ohio, I think?). No matter where it's from, I still love it, such a cute expression.
