ive been trying to get back together with Alex.

so far. it hasnt been working.
he just wants to be friends. and i cant do that.
Its either we get back together or i get over him.
Either he has me as a girlfriend or he doesnt have me at all.
why?
because if we're friends i will never be able to get over him

Honestly Katie, I don't exactly agree with you. I think perhaps it would be easier to find a new crush, instead of trying to get over Alex or going back out with him isn't the answer. Alex apparently doesn't want to go out with you, but I think if you started talking a whole lot more with him and stayed friends with him, he might realise his mistake, or you'll realise that he's no good. What about those other guys out there, to me Alex is a bottom feeder, if he can't understand how wonderful you are, than no he shouldn't have you at all, but I think he still does want you, because apparentally he doesn't want to just say "ok, we're not going out, I don't like her, I don't want to be friends with her." He wants to still be friends, which I think means theres still something clicking in his mind that says "I still love Katie, but i'm not ready to go through all that drama again." Try being friends with him and see what happens, I agree it will be a little harder to get over him, but maybe you don't want to just yet, and to stop
