Name: Holly
Age: 21
Location: Greenville, SC, USA
Hobbies: Ancient and modern cultures and languages, building and creating things like art or bowls, caring for and mending abandoned or injured animals, researching and investigating things, studying and reading writings of philosophers, experimenting with cooking, flying kites, skygazing, watching sunrises on the beach (before the sun gets so strong it scorches me in 15 minutes), nerding out on the computer, travelling, riding in vehicles, avoiding sunlight and loving the coolness and dark of the night.
5 adjectives to describe yourself:
Xenocentric, Chameleon (I can look like a punk or goth one day and like aristocracy/higher-up/faculty the next), Devoted, Determined, Stoic
Weaknesses (tragic flaws, if you will):
I’m very judgemental. I can judge a person’s character within two meetings of them. I observe people, and my judgements have never been proven too far off target. I often observe people, long before I interact with them, because by observing their interactions, I can determine how they’ll treat me in turn.
What are your feelings about...
Love: I don’t require it. I have more acquaintances than I can count because I am wary of letting people close. People almost seem to enjoy hurting me. However, I do not discount love as a frivilous feeling. Often it’s far too confused with lust and misdirected emotion. I’m sure it exists because God shows His love for us every day, with every sunrise or sunset.
Friendship: I don’t require it, either. I prefer a few close, trust-with-my-life friends than anything else. So few as 1-3 and as much as 5. Friendship is often very waif-like and seasonal. I don’t care for it. Give me family-like people-people I can trust with my life-before someone ‘nice to chat with’.
Death: It comes to all of us. It’s one thing guaranteed. No one should be so brazen as to force His hand on one’s clock. All things finalize in the end, but it’s not something to fear or lament. The passing, someone’s life, will be missed, but that happens, whether or not the person is living or dead.
Politics:
Politics set on an uncorruptable set of standards for morals and living to the fullest, most enriching life is not a dream. God and His prophets and ancient scholars wrote these things down. They work, but we want a “better” way of doing things. Yet we always mess up. Let’s not try and re-invent the wheel-let’s just put it on different things and see where it takes us.
If you could be famous for one thing, what would it be? A woman who’s not butch, yet still known for her steadfastness. Like Queen Elizabeth.
What's your life goal?
To do what I am able to alleviate pain. I can’t get rid of it, no one can, but we are all able to reduce the suffering of others.
Fill in the blank: "My kingdom for a..."
discerning eye and vivid understanding of all things.
