I was looking at my W-2 and commenting on how much of my money went to taxes, social security, and medicare. My mom goes, "See where it says social security? Put your lips up to it." I did. "Now give it a kiss goodbye cause you'll never see it again."...hahahaha. A thousand bucks of my money GONE to some old cooter and by the time I'm old enough to ( Read more... )

I wish they would have done more to fix it like that privatization plan that Pres. Bush proposed last year. The AARP is screwing us over by demanding to have a system that is going to go broke by 2037 or whatever year it was. They're also screwing us by fighting against yearly driving tests for older people. A few weeks ago, this old lady turned into my lane and started driving toward my direction. She could kill someone like that...

I KNOW. yesterday i was turning right out of a parking lot, and the oncoming traffic in the lane i was turning into, there was an old lady with the handicapped tag still on her mirror (aren't you supposed to take that thing down when you drive?!). she's in the left lane, and there's a guy in the right lane. she proceeds to cut the guy off directly at the turn and basically turn right from the left lane, RIGHT in front of him. MORON. they NEED to do yearly driving tests for people over, like, 55. gahhhhhhh

I agree.

In my situation, this lady was trying to turn out of a shopping center. She turned into the lane that I was coming in from. I had to get away from her. THe lanes going both ways were clearly divided by a median, so its not like you couldn't tell which lane was which. I don't think that she realize what she was doing.

I definitely think that they should maybe people over a certain age, maybe 65 or so, take yearly driving tests to make sure that they're ok to drive. I heard someone saying a while back that their deceased mother who was 90 at the time, received a renewal for her driver's license in the mail.

OMG i totally agree. I almost rammed into an old lady today driving a Buick because she just cut out in front of me on the highway...i was going 70!!

I tell my mom all the time they need to make mandatory driving tests at the age of 60...cause she'll be 58 this year and drives like shit! haha.

You can't help but feel a LITTLE bad when you see/know people on it and then look at your pay check to see all that money get drained.
