Today I woke up at an atrociously early hour to volunteer my time for scorekeeping for the Pittsburgh Regional of the 15th Annual FIRST Robotics Competition. I will do the same tomorrow.

It was all sorts of good. I obtained and will continue to obtain not only several freebies, including a T-shirt, four meals, and divers team merch, but more ( Read more... )

What time is atrociously early? If it's after Pamela's opens, you should give me a call.

Also, where is this thing, and when does it end?

6:30! I get to the place at 7:00. But that is for volunteers only; teams come more at like 8:00 and the games start around 10:00. So I will give you a call around 9:00, which is, to the best of my knowledge, after Pamela's opens.

It is at the Pitt campus, Peterson Event Center/Dome, in what I hear is the smaller arena. There's a map under the "Pittsburgh Regional" link above. Seeding matches (continuing from yesterday) are tennish until noonish, then final rounds are one until threeish. Although the final rounds will be the most fun to watch, I would recommend that you come to at least a little bit of the seeding part, so you understand the game.
