When I searched wikipedia for Henry Hornbostel, the first hit I found was this.

I am completely in love with electroluminescent wire

Do you think I can knit with it?

It is has fragile little wires that supply the current on one side of the phosphor, and it has a fairly thick plastic coating, so it doesn't take tight bends very well. However, it comes in at least four gauges, and the tiniest one, though even more fragile, is apparently fairly limber. Alternatively, you could knit something in yarn and weave the wire through it.

Try it and report back!

If done on a large enough needle, it would make for some interesting garter stitch...

Alternatively, I could be less of an ass and just sew it onto something.

I'm just using the (extra bright, long life) standard stuff, but they have a "tail" wire with a wide ridge along it (like corded piping) for better sewing into seams.

A lot of the content of the service is on Catherine's website now, if you're interested. :)

Thanks; I'd followed that link a few times from your's and jkuo's profiles, but not recently enough to see actual content.
