(no subject)
Again a photo post, why not. Easter Sunday, which was a bit sad and filled with cooking :)
I get up but don't get dressed or have a shower yet. Mirror still fogged from bf's shower.
He's asleep, after working till 8 am.
I head downstairs to the kitchen and the first thing I see is neighbours' labrador pup sh*ting in front of our window (the lawn behind is common). They never clean after it :/
Time check.
I settle down with my laptop to talk to my family on Skype. Easter in Poland is a family holiday so it's a bit sad for me to be so far away from them :( Especially that I have noone to celebrate it with in Ireland - bf is Irish and Easter is not a big deal here :/ This is my sister solith_ on the photo btw :)
This is the time I finished with Skype after talking to parents, sister, two grandmas and grandpa :)
I'm hungry and I finally have my Easter breakfast - proper Easter egg (hard-boiled egg dyed with food dye) and sandwich with a kind of beetroot and horseradish relish/sauce, yum :)
Eggs close up because they're so colourful :)
After peeling the yellow one I see that the dye seeped through the shell.
I do some interneting while I eat ;]
The weather doesn't look so good :/
After I finish eating I start cooking soup that is often eaten for Easter - sour rye soup or "zurek". I love it, and it's one of the very very few Polish dishes my bf likes ;p Doesn't look like much yet.
I have tea when the stock is cooking.
The sky is starting to clear, yay! :D
I go upstairs and finally have a shower and wash my hair.
I also try to de-uglify myself, haha ;p
Taa-daaa! ;)
Time check back downstairs.
I check on my soup.
Rather failed attempt at hair drying photo ;p
Our "lovely" living room which is not used for anything but drying clothes and storing stuff.
I take med for bladder infection (or cistitis - isn't is a funny word?) I have :/
And then I have Coke and Kinder Eggs which my mum sent from Poland. She used to buy them for me and my sister for Easter when we were kids and she's still giving them to us now :)
That's the thing I add to zurek to make it, well... zurek :) Thank God for Polish shop in the neighbourhood :D
Soup is ready! Still doesn't look great but tastes divine :P
Then I prepare to make a cake. I'll be making it for the first time and this is the recipe my mom sent me :)
Blurry time check - it's 12.54.
I put some music on - Lykke Li if you can see. I change to something more energetic soon enough - Radwimps haha.
And I finally start making the cake - it's a lemon kind-of sponge cake. I think?
I shove it in the oven.
And make the icing. Time check also.
I check on my herbs. I only sowed them the previous day so nothing growing yet :)
Then I prepare ingredients for lunch/dinner - tuna risotto with cherry tomatoes, black olives and spring onion.
I'm really excited about all that cooking - you can tell because I'm smiling like an eejit :D
I do some more random interneting (it should be a proper verb by now ;p).
Another time check. You must be sick of seeing my microwave by now!
The cake turned out great! :D
And the risotto is ready too. I put it in a bowl for me and in a plastic box for bf to take to work at night.
After eating I go upstairs to wake him up, but he doesn't want to get up. Don't know what happen to that pic btw...
It's almost half four when we go downstairs.
He has coffee and Cadbury Cream Egg I got for him.
The cake is a big hit :D
As all shops run out of Easter eggs early this year, this is what I get from him. They're yummy so I don't care that it's not really an egg ;p
I manage to persuade bf to go for a walk with me, as the weather is rather nice :)
Nice layered clouds.

We reach little peninsula on the shore of river Shannon and this is what we see :/ Someone obviously had a good time here but why didn't they clean after themselves?! I hate that. The grass is also full of broken beer bottles, yuck :/
But the view is nice.
There is this creepy grave/tribute place nearby. Apparently some girl was killed here and her family (?) has this little altar set up.
Same place. So weird...
That's the building we live in :)
Since it's Easter and everything, I treat myself to melon (looove them) and wine :) Half of the melon is for the bf though.
Internet again - it's a great site btw :) Talk to my sister again on Polish instant messenger.
Melon is gone, it was lovely!
I bring dried clothes from downstairs and put them away.
I take off my contacts and put my glasses back on.
Then I plan food for the next week and make a shopping list. Bf's gone to work already :(
I get hungry and go to the kitchen after 9.
I have zurek with my Easter Egg.
The I go back to the bedroom and finally copy the interesting recipes from Jamie's cookbook I got from the library.
I do the same with another one.
Then I shower again.
Almost ready for bed :)
