Harry Potter and the Order of Manlove (TM my brother)
I saw Ootp! I liked it. I mean, I'm basically the easiest person in the world to please when it comes to movie adaptations. They're seperate entities to the books, y'know? Completely new texts. The changes don't piss me off. I'm eeeeeasy, like Sebs.
List forms are so much easier, so here we go. In no real order, of course. And I've probably forgotten stuff. Whatevs.
loved:
- Dudley! With his bling! And general awesomeness! (I bet the ten year old totally did deserve it.)
- What Petunia was wearing. I kind of want that outfit, for real.
- The mad black tiles in the Department of Mysteries.
- PERCY PERCY PERCY PERCY PERCY! Just for existing. And also for his attempt to tame those curls.
- How the Room of Requirement provided the mistletoe. Proof that it was totally built for sexxing.
- The Twins. Especially the scene where they're looking after the little kid who got quill-tortured. I really want to hug whoever decided to show nurturing twins. So much.
- Despite Remus having like, zero dialogue, they managed to make it really Remus/Sirius shippy. It was fucking beautiful. Two thumbs up. Possibly three thumbs up, I'll just have to borrow someone else's hand.
- Harry's profound lack of interest in Ginny, coupled with all the little shippy scenes with Luna. And hell, just Luna entirely. She was ACE.
- McGonagall kicks arse.
- The Thestrals. They were so beautiful.
- How everything Snape says sounds like porn. Like, especially the Occlumency stuff.
- Seeing in a theatre full of geeks, where we all laughed at the same places, even if it was inappropriate. So awesome.
- Rupert Grint was definitely the best of the Trio.
loathed:
- The kiss scene, but mostly because it was too good. The kiss is supposed to suck, and not in the positive life-affirming way. Also, they made out in front of a picture of Cedric Diggory. That's kind of wrong. Although, you could maybe read that as a bit Apple Candy? I could get into that.
- Bella actually using the killing curse of Sirius. Way to kill my tiny amounts false hope, honestly. Still, WHAT VEIL?
- Snape's worst memory was not long enough, and there wasn't enough Remus. There's never enough Remus.
- Kingsley being African Stereotype dude. Ugh.
- The centaurs aren't hot enough.
- Emma Watson. Enough said.
- They left out my favourite line. See icon.
