Happy non-denominational spring season.

I can take comfort in the fact that I've finished my Geometry project.

Here's Dan Clowes' Enid:

Here's my Enid:

Yeah, I know it looks pretty crappy, particularly where her face is concerned. Here eyes are huge in mine and she comes off looking more anime-ish than anything that Daniel Clowes penned. But you know what? I'm finished with it, and I have a History paper to write, so I'm not going to worry about it all that much.

Spring Break has been boring, but in a good way. Here's a day-by-day recap of everything that happened.

Saturday: Ian and I sat at Starbucks and good times that included music and an idea for a film involving the biography of El Paso fertilizer salesman and filmmaker extraordinaire Hal Warren were had. He lent me American Beauty, Wings of Desire, and Forbidden Zone, all three of which I really enjoyed. All in all, it was a great time. He also found the coolest thing ever:

Huzzah!

Sunday: We dropped Kathryn off at a party and I got to sit with my mom and Kathryn's friends' mothers talk about...everything. They're all very nice people, but motherly conversation always tends to be kind of boring. After this, we went to pick up Sara and together she and I ran around like crazy muthas in the Rice Village. Okay, well sort of. We raided the cheesy romantic smut novel section at Half Price books, looking for the classic Passions Wild and Free. We were unsuccessful in that venture but found some that were almost as great anyway. We ventured to Urban Outfitters and got drinks at Jamba Juice. Huzzah!

Monday: We went to my grandmother's and spent the night. I watched some of the Upright Citizens Brigade episodes on iControl. I'm on the fence about the Upright Citizens Brigade, but they have their moments. Sketches like the Werewolf Sex one get old kind of quickly, though.

Tuesday: Went shopping and got a nice top and skirt.

Wednesday: Put off everything I needed to do and had a mini-Strangers with Candy marathon for myself.

Thursday: Laid around some more. I was pretty much a zombie for the entire Wednesday/Thursday part of the week. A zombie that craved Chex Mix.

Friday: Worked on my History project (on the emergence of pop art) and then, once again, went to my grandmother's, where I worked on my Geometry project. A couple of my aunts and cousins came over to have dinner with us (my grandmother always has someone over for dinner, because all of her children, sans my mom and one of my other aunts, live within a mile from her) and the conversation was steered towards movies. What movies? The Notebook, The Passion of the Christ, Sweet November, The Gladiator, and Bridget Jones' Diary. The only one out of all of those that I don't mind is Bridget Jones' Diary. Each time a new movie was brought up, I cringed slightly. When my mom mentioned that she hadn't yet seen the Notebook, every other woman at the table gasped in horror and now my mom has the DVD from my aunt. Call me critical, but...man. Pffthaha. I'll watch it under the guise of cynicism and be secretly envious that I don't have TRUE LOVE like what I'm witnessing onscreen.

Oh, who am I kidding? I'm gonna rip that sucker to shreds because it's going to suck really, really badly, for lack of better words, and it's going to be funny as hell.

Saturday: I woke up, had pizza for breakfast, and watched The Shining (I have projects to work on but "All work and no play makes Jack a very dull boy", you know.) and then went back home.

It's been a relatively peaceful spring break, and I'm really happy I didn't have to go any further than my grandmother's, because all of this time alone at home has been very nice.
