i think they have very limited funds (thus the salary offered) - and getting there & back is expensive! (presumably you can leave more often if you pay for it yourself; i think that implies one trip funded by the trust.)

on their website they have a june deadline for the same post. it only appeared on bajr this week, so i think they must have not had any suitable candidates.)

p.s. aren't galapagos tortoises on the galapagos islands?
