It was from a response to that Guardian article on a £250,000 kitchen that made me all grumpy and 'this is what's wrong with the world'.

I was going to rant about it, but before I got around to it, oursin had blogged and mme_hardy started the meme and suddenly I'm seeing it everywhere. It's really weird seeing it start and then watching it spread.

ahaha. my HOUSE cost a fifth of that.

it is weird, seeing one from so close to inception and watching it evolve as it goes... i can see some strains americanising and others staying more european...

you should - oh, apparently it was assumed at the time it was a bit of a sneaky joke about holmes & watson, especially as bunny thinks raffles is amaaaaaaaazing. and gets jealous when he talks to ladies.
