Honey, I said it before, I'll say it again....you are so amazing. I am so proud of you for all of the work that you've been doing and all of the beautiful images that you've been producing.
oh and my critique *meow* I like the 2nd to last the best, it's something about the coloring.
This is really good work. Your lighting is really hot though. The second to last shot her legs look good but her face is washed out maybe more diffusion? A little less fill light would give you some great dramatic shadows too and that would kick ass on the sepia toned pic. It looks like you are working really well with your model, reminding her to drop her shoulders and pop her chest out. i know you like the purple, but consider filling with a blue and a tiny touch of either a warm tone or a green. Our skin tends to reflect yellow, blue, green and pink in regular light so you can really pull some seriously cool tones out of your models skin if you play with that. It also looks like you are working with a static light set up, i cant blame you there, i hate resetting lights.
I am telling you man, we sooooooooo need to work together. There are things i need a hand with that you seem to have nailed and i think i could return the favor.
Thanks for the comments. I always appreciate tips from others.
The purpose of the second to last shot is actualy to highlight the shoes for a company I'm working with (as is the one above it). I don't feel that I achieved that with this shot, (the next one in the series - not pictured - achieved that much better) but I personally liked the dramatic bright lighting of her face. It's a preference thing. But I'll try processing it with your tip, and see if I like that even better.
The purple was a choice made for client site continuity. I prefer a deep blue gel at different power settings for high key, or a dark red wash for low key. Your absolutly right about light vs skin properties.
The lights aren't static, but they are continous lights (AKA Hot lights) till I can afford some good strobes. I have to shift them constantly to get different angles, or effects (what a pain...hehe).
I would love to work with you. When are you coming down to this area again?
