These last few days had not been good ones for Pepper. Yea, the clubs were still running, and the money still coming in; but she'd begun feeling a distinct ominous tone in the air. And no word from Deacon, none at all. She was worried, something.. something must have happened. But no one knew, or no one would tell her. And then last night it finally hit the fan. She'd gone to "After Dark" to check on a problem with the computer system they said they'd been having. Problem with the computer systems, my ass. Funny. Pepper wasn't coming right out to greet him. He could hear the shower running, but he knew that wouldn't stop her. She'd run wet and naked into his arms. Yet she wasn't doing that. Maybe she was pissed?

Frost wasn't one to yell, so he just padded through the condo towards the bathroom. Steam poured out as he opened the door and stood in the doorjamb.

"Miss me?"

She choked back her words, and opened the shower door just an inch to see if it was real. If it was really..

"Deacon!!" She slid on the wet floor, crying out and holding her side but she was still up in a flash and in his arms, splashing water everywhere as she held him and cried.
