They won't take your tonsils unless you visit them for tonsilitis about six or seven times in one year. I'm up for mine, yAY! They also can only remove them when they're not infected. :/
As for antibiotics, DO NOT TAKE THEM! Don't even waste money paying for them. Unless your lab test comes back positive for strep, you're actually doing more damage to your body by taking them unecessarily than you are helping.
Like he said, let it run it's course. He should have given you a solution to gargle to numb the pain so that you can swallow easier. Other than that, eat foods that are easy to digest and don't do anything except sit, lay, and sleep.
man i totally had that this summer when i was in portland. it was horrible. i couldn't get up pretty much, or sit straight, i couldnt eat anything, or drink and then i lost my voice and i couldnt even wisper and my tonsils almost closed up my throat and i had to spit into a napkin all the time because i couldnt even swallow that.

tomorrow svet and i are doing the leaving thing. that whole leaving to portland-seattle thing. which means i will be tap-tapping a faraway hello and how are you.

however, i will be getting inebriated and screaming "DUUUUUUUUUUDE!SPRING BREAK 4EVER!!" just for you. my lack of tonsilitis makes for screeching with ease. i'll even pour out liquor in your honor, not-so-dead homie. word.
i got rid of my tonsils when i was 8 because they were such a bitch. anything in intravenous form that doesn't involve needles would be cool. like if they could... put it in a portal and it would just zap into your body. whoa.
