sometimes a house can smell so much like a house you used to know that you just can't take it any more; no matter how many people are smoking and you've got to leave or else.
and that sucks because you missed the s'mores.

new york city has me enthralled.
in a very fritz lang sort of way.
i do suppose this place isn't as scary as i thought.
two days at the metropolitan museum of art spent with dull pencil to crisp paper and words in foreign languages spilling forth to instruct french tourists this way and that. central park left me un-mugged and smiling with mulberries in mouth.
i saw rent with my dad the other night. and when i cried as angel walked off stage, in a long white sheet, i thought of our hysteria in eighth grade merely walking into the theater. upstaging everyone from mr. casagrade to seasoned broadway stars.
montreal is calling. nate, his sister sarah[who is wonderful], and myself are headed up there after family vacation. two weeks. come with us. fly to boston, drive to montreal, get franco-fied.
telephone.

are his movements still affected with the caffeine-induced quivers?
is his head still exposed to uv rays with a flesh-hued sheen?
does he still laugh harder at his own jokes than is reasonable?
glad to know we spawned a legacy.
